Who books the table, and when
Most guests book their own and simply tell Rosie the name and the hour. If you would rather not, say so in your first message and she will suggest two or three rooms that hold a late table and are used to a party of two arriving separately. Your companion is content to meet you at the restaurant instead of the hotel where that is easier, and equally content to arrive at your door first and travel with you. Whichever you choose, the four hours begin when she does.

The dinner itself stays with the host, exactly as it would with any guest: the table, the wine, the taxi home if you take one together. If the restaurant moves your booking, one message resets the arrival time at no cost, provided there are three hours or more between the message and the original hour. Inside two hours half the figure applies, and a quarter of an hour of grace covers a kitchen running late.
