Nancy, as Rosie knows her
Nancy keeps a battered road atlas in the boot of her car, because she likes to see a whole route before she drives it. A small detail, but it says a lot: sunny, curious, happiest on the move. Golden blonde hair reaches well down her back, her eyes are a bright, frank blue, and her curvy 170 cm figure carries the golden-hour glamour of someone who has just come in from a beach: warm skin, a white dress, gold at the wrists.
Energy and ease sit side by side in her. Nancy is in her early thirties, able to give an ordinary Tuesday the flavour of a holiday's opening evening, and her English is open, cheerful and honest. Swimming is a daily ritual. Road trips are her holidays, the longer and more winding the better. Sushi is her favourite supper, eaten at the counter so she can watch the chef's hands.
In this corner of London her day often starts with a swim in the Serpentine, and the cold water leaves a glow in her cheeks that lasts well into the evening. She loves the park at dusk too: a stroll along the lake as the lamps come on, before crossing to a hotel on Park Lane or heading into Knightsbridge for dinner. She is at her happiest when a plan leaves room for a detour, and in her company one usually appears.
Covent Garden is her base, and she travels happily to Hyde Park and the hotels ringing it. Every format is on the rates page; tell Rosie your plans and she will do the rest.

How Nancy likes an evening to go
With Nancy, an evening has a touch of the seaside about it, even in the middle of London. She likes to meet by the water in Hyde Park as the sun goes down, hair still slightly damp from a swim, with a story about the swan that chased her the length of the lake. From there, a slow walk to Hyde Park Corner and a conversation about roads: the finest she has driven clung to a cliff without a guard rail, and the view made her stop the car twice. Dinner is sushi at a counter, where she chats with the chef and shares everything she orders. She is endlessly easy company, never in a hurry, and in your room she opens the curtains to the park before anything else.
Asked and answered, by Nancy
3 questions guests often put to Nancy before a first evening.
Most of the year. In January it takes my breath away for the first minute, and then it is the best feeling in London.
A week along a coast road with no plan, one bag and a paper map. We stopped wherever the view made us gasp, which was often.
Whatever the chef is proudest of that day. Then I watch his face while I eat it, which tells me more than the menu.
