The profile

Tiffany, as Rosie knows her

Tiffany can tell a vintage champagne from a non-vintage with her eyes closed, and she once proved it, to a delighted table, at a friend's wedding. That eye for detail runs through everything. Fine-boned and petite in build though a respectable 169 cm tall, she has chocolate brown hair that shines past her shoulders and warm brown eyes, and her style is beachside boho with a little sequin sparkle: a slip dress with a beaded hem, delicate chains, sandals she can dance in.

Graceful and quick, playful but precise, she never tips into fussiness. Tiffany is in her mid twenties and talks in a bright, witty English with an ear for a good phrase. Street photography is her passion, the small overlooked moments of city life; champagne is her favourite way to celebrate; and design hotels are a secret obsession, the lighting, the textures, the way a room has been put together.

Near Victoria she loves Hotel 41 on Buckingham Palace Road, a small hotel in striking black and white whose lounge feels like a private club tucked above the street. She likes a glass of champagne there as the evening opens, admiring the design as she talks. From there the quiet streets of Belgravia and the grander hotels are only moments away on foot, and she will narrate the architecture as you go, one doorway at a time, until you start noticing the details yourself.

When you message Rosie, mention the hotel: from her Soho flat Tiffany reaches Victoria and the rest of SW1 in minutes. Every option is laid out on the rates page, so an evening that begins with a toast is quick to arrange.

After dark

How Tiffany likes an evening to go

Tiffany's evenings are all about the details, and she notices every one. She might greet you in the lobby by pointing out the brass handle on the door or the colour of the velvet on the sofa, then order champagne and explain why this particular bottle is worth the price. Conversation flows from photography to design to the best hotel bathroom she has ever seen. She likes to walk a little between venues, camera in hand, catching a stranger's gesture or a street lamp reflected in a window. Supper is elegant and lightly playful. By the end of the evening she has shown you your own city through fresh eyes, and made you laugh at least once with an absurdly precise observation.

In her words

Asked and answered, by Tiffany

3 questions guests often put to Tiffany before a first evening.

Finer bubbles, more depth and a little toastiness on the finish. But mostly I watch the sommelier's face as he pours it.

Soft light, a proper doorman and one surprising object, a sculpture or a strange chair, that gives the place a personality.

Hands, mostly. People holding coffee, holding umbrellas, holding each other. Hands tell you everything about a city.
