Stacy, as Rosie knows her
Stacy has tried stand-up comedy exactly once, at an open mic night, and came away with one enormous laugh and a round of applause for sheer nerve. It says a great deal about her. Slim and 176 cm, she wears her near-black brown hair long, her dark brown eyes rimmed in a flick of metallic liner, and her nightlife glamour leans edgy: a slip dress in liquid silver under a cropped leather jacket, boots or heels depending on the dare.
Stacy says yes to the unexpected detour. Bold, spontaneous and quick witted, and somewhere in her early twenties, she delivers her English with sharp comic timing in a low, confiding voice, and she can make a stranger at the next table laugh without ever raising it. Street photography is her daily habit, candid frames of London after dark; snowboarding is her winter escape; and comedy clubs are her favourite night out, particularly the small basement rooms where anything could happen.
Her Sloane Square evenings often begin at the Royal Court Theatre, famous for bold new writing, where she likes a drink in the downstairs bar before a show and a seat in the smaller upstairs space for something daring. Afterwards she will want to talk it all over, strolling around the square with her camera out, stopping to photograph a lit window or a stranger in a great coat waiting for a taxi.

How Stacy likes an evening to go
Stacy's evenings are spontaneous, bright and a little unpredictable. She might meet you outside the theatre with two tickets for something nobody has reviewed yet, plus a plan B involving a comedy club if the play turns out to be dreadful. Along the way she takes pictures, never of you, always of the city: a neon reflection in a puddle, a chef on a back step, the last bus lit up like an aquarium. Over a late drink she tells the story of getting lost on a mountain in fog and following a cowbell all the way down on her board. She laughs at her own stories as hard as anyone. Later the energy mellows, and the edge gives way to something surprisingly soft.
